Shab-E-Meraj In The Light Of Qur’an

Countless Praise and Glorification be to Almighty ALLAH, the Creator of the Universe. Boundless Blessings and Peace be upon His Most Beloved Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu ta’ala ‘alayhi wa Sallam The Crown of the Universe

Almighty ALLAH sent about 124,000 Prophets alayhim as-‘salam for the guidance of mankind. He gifted all of them some miracles. These miracles were sound evidences on their Prophethood. Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu ta’ala ‘alayhi wa Sallam is the Essence of the Universe. Truly, he was bestowed with all miracles of the past Prophets alayhim as-‘salam. Furthermore, he was presented unique miracles in abundance. The Mi’raj is one of those unique Miracles.

It is only Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu ta’ala ‘alayhi wa Sallam who saw Almighty ALLAH with his own physical eyes whilst awake. Allahu Akhbar!

Belief in the Unseen represents a major and essential part of Islam. When we review the key principles of Islam such as belief in ALLAH, the Hereafter, Paradise and Hell, angels and jinn, past prophets and books, we find that all these issues are ghayb (unseen) and need unshakable conviction in the Beloved Prophet Muhammad Salla Allahu ta’ala ‘alayhi wa Sallam’s truthfulness.

The Night Journey and Ascension (Al-Isra’ Wa Al-Mi’raj) posed a crucial test for early Muslims to assess their belief in the Unseen. This journey brought to light the unshakeable, firmly rooted faith of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq Radi Allahu ta’ala anhu and the weak faith of some other people who rejected Islam totally once they heard the story.

The Mi’raj is not only one miracle it is a compound of miracles. Here is the story of Mi’raj mentioned by Allah Almighty’s Beloved Messenger Salla Allahu ta’ala ‘alayhi wa Sallam.

ALLAH – beginning with the name of – the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Purity is to Him Who took His bondman in a part of the night from the Sacred Mosque to the Aqsa Mosque around which We have placed blessings, in order that We may show him Our great signs; indeed he is the listener, the beholder. (This verse refers to the physical journey of Prophet Mohammed Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam-Peace and blessings be upon him – to Al Aqsa Mosque and from there to the heavens and beyond. The entire journey back to Makkah was completed within a small part of the night.)
(Al Qur’an-E-Kareem, Surah Bani Israel, Verse: 1, Translation Kanzul Imaan)

By oath of the beloved shining star Mohammed(peace and blessings be upon him), when he returned from the Ascent. Never did your master stray nor did he ever leave the right path. And he does not say anything by his own desire.  It is but a divine revelation, which is revealed to him. He has been taught by the Extremely Powerful. The Strong; then the Spectacle inclined. And he was on the horizon of the highest heaven. Then the Spectacle became closer, and (he) came down fully. So the distance between the Spectacle and the beloved was only two arms’ length, or even less. (The Heavenly Journey of Prophet Mohammed  Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam– peace and blessings be upon him – was with body and soul.) So ALLAH divinely revealed to His bondman, whatever He divinely revealed. The heart did not deny, what it saw. (The Holy Prophet was bestowed with seeing ALLAH.) What! So do you dispute with him regarding what he saw?  And indeed he did see the Spectacle again. Near the lote-tree of the last boundary. Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. When the lote-tree was being enveloped, by whatever around it. The sight did not shift, nor did it cross the limits. Indeed he saw the supreme signs of his Lord.
(Al Qur’an-E-Kareem, Surah Al Najm, Verses: 1 to 18, Translation Kanzul Imaan)

And when We proclaimed to you, “Indeed all mankind is within the control of your Lord”; and We did not create the spectacle * which We showed you except to try mankind, and the Tree ** which is cursed in the Qur’an; and We warn them – so nothing increases for them except extreme rebellion. (* The Ascent of the Holy Prophet to the heavens and beyond, which the disbelievers denied as just a dream.  ** The Zakkum tree which will grow in hell and be the food for its inhabitants.)
(Al Qur’an-E-Kareem, Surah Bani Israel, Verse: 60, Translation Kanzul Imaan)

May ALLAH Rabbul Aalameen give us true faith on him & his messenger Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. May ALLAH Rabbul Aalameen fill our hearts with his and his messenger Hazrat Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam’s Love. May ALLAH Rabbul Aalameen forgive us for the sins we have done and keep us away from all the troubles in this world and the day of judgement.
Awwal Aakhir Durood.
